CMA: An empirical threshold-free MODIS cloud masking approach now openly available on Zenodo

Dear colleagues,

I would like to share an open-access preprint of my work on an empirical cloud masking approach for MODIS daytime imagery:

Empirical Cloud Mask Algorithm (ECMA): A robust multi-spectral approach for cloud detection in optical remote sensing imagery

The method explores a threshold-free spectral formulation using multiple MODIS bands within a single empirical framework, aiming to provide an alternative to conventional rule-based cloud masking approaches.

The work is now openly available on Zenodo:

DOI: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.20037876

I would particularly appreciate feedback from researchers working with MOD35, VIIRS cloud masks, CALIPSO validation, atmospheric correction, or aerosol-cloud discrimination.

Suggestions regarding independent validation datasets or potential collaboration opportunities would also be highly welcome.
